Eredivisie side Ajax are reportedly set to sign Brazilian left-back Caio Henrique from AS Monaco.

Ajax are in the middle of a giant rebuild, with technical director Jordi Cruyff having put 21 players up for sale on the TransferRoom platform and reportedly wanting to sign up to 15 new players for the senior squad.

According to several sources, including De Telegraaf and Foot Mercato's Santi Aouna and Sebastien Denis, Ajax and AS Monaco have agreed on the transfer of Caio Henrique, with the Brazilian keen to join the Amsterdam side. Only some final contractual details are in the way of the transfer's completion.

Ajax are reportedly paying €9 million for Henrique, with bonuses potentially increasing the total fee to €9.5 million.

Caio Henrique, 28, joined Monaco in 2020 from Atletico Madrid, for whom the Brazilian only made one senior appearance. Henrique has played 211 games for Monaco, in which he provided 39 assists and scored 3 goals.

Henrique, a 5-time Brazilian international, missed the last two months of the 2025-26 season with Monaco due to a hamstring injury. The Brazilian left-back was off to a hot start in the 2023-24 season, having assisted four goals in the first six games of the season before rupturing his ACL.
