Los Angeles Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani and Toronto Blue Jays' Ernie Clement earned automatic bids for the 2026 All-Star game after topping the charts for Phase 1 of voting.

Ohtani, 31, will represent the National League as the designated hitter. The Japanese sensation who has won three straight MVPs (four total) could be on track for another.

He's slashing .295/.414/.549 with 17 home runs, 46 RBI, and six stolen bases as a hitter, while tossing a stellar 1.58 earned run average through 13 starts as a pitcher, wracking up 86 strikeouts in 79.2 innings and giving up just 48 hits and 24 walks.

Six of Ohtani's teammates are finalists in the Phase 2 voting stage, including Freddie Freeman (1B), Mookie Betts (SS), Max Muncy (3B), Will Smith (C), Andy Pages (OF), and Teoscar Hernandez (OF).

Voting for Phase 2 opens on June 29th and closes on July 2nd.

Meanwhile, Clement, 30, will represent the American League as their second baseman. He currently leads the AL with 20 doubles, while posting a .292/.313/.437 slashline with seven home runs, 28 RBI, and two stolen bases.

This marks Clement's first-ever All-Star bid in his six-year MLB career.

The Toronto Blue Jays have the opportunity to send a whopping seven players to the All-Star game, with one player at each position outside of pitcher and an open outfield spot.

Teammates Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (1B), Andres Gimenez (2B), Kazuma Okamoto (SS), Alejandro Kirk (C), George Springer (DH), Daulton Varsho (OF), and Jesus Sanchez (OF), all have the chance to make the All-Star team this year.

The 2026 MLB All-Star Game is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14th.
