GOG fell behind—despite having led for the entire match—and faced immense pressure during a nail-biting finish against the Hungarian powerhouse Pick Szeged. But in the end, Kevin Moller blocked a Hungarian shot, allowing GOG to secure the crucial point they needed during their away fixture in Hungary on Thursday in a 33-33 draw.

GOG came under immense pressure right from the start. In the impressive arena, nearly 8,000 spectators cheered on their heroes, and the Hungarians approached the match with great intensity.

Initially, there was a noticeable difference in pace and physicality between the two teams, but the Danes gradually found their rhythm and began to match Pick Szeged.

It was a bruising encounter played at a high pace, with goals pouring in at both ends, until GOG began to take control of the match around the 15-minute mark.

The Hungarians lost some of the spark that had driven them early on—largely because GOG began to play with greater aggression in defense and started winning their one-on-one duels.

The Faroese player Óli Mittún, in particular, proved a handful for Pick Szeged’s defense. Time and again, he challenged the heavyweights in their central defensive block, creating excellent scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates.

By the halftime whistle, GOG had opened up a three-goal lead.

After the break, Pick Szeged came back to life. The pace increased, the crowd rose to their feet, and the hosts regained their intensity, putting GOG under pressure in several areas.

The Danes could not be subdued initially but after a host of missed chances and several errors from GOG, Pick Szeged found a new lease on life, and with five minutes remaining, the score stood at 32–31 in the Hungarians' favor. The GOG players appeared drained, yet they ultimately managed to steal a point.
