Line Christophersen was handed a virtual badminton lesson when she crashed out of the quarter-final of the World Championships against the World No. 3, China's Wang Zhi Yi 10-21, 7-21.

In women's singles, World No. 15 Line Christophersen lost her quarter-final at the Badminton World Championships in two one-sided sets marked by numerous Danish errors.

It ended in a decisive 10-21, 7-21 defeat against the Chinese player Wang Zhi Yi, who is ranked third in the world.

"She gets super confident and makes no errors, making it hard for me to break through. It’s just was not clicking for me today. There’s a lot of wind in there, and my timing is off," she said to TV2 Sport.

"I try to play some long rallies, but she manages to return absolutely everything; she’s playing with really high quality," said Line Christophersen.
