Danish men's doubles pair book final ticket against local heroes at Malaysian Masters

The Danish men's doubles pair of Daniel Lundgaard and Mads Vestergaard on Saturday afternoon booked their ticket for the final of the Super 500 tournament Malaysian Masters when they won 21-19, 21-17 over Junaidi Arif and Roy King Yap from Malaysia.

In Saturday's semi-final, Daniel Lundgaard and Mads Vestergaard won 21-19, 21-17 against Junaidi Arif and Roy King Yap from Malaysia.

In the first set, the Danes took a 5-1 lead, but Junaidi Arif and Roy King Yap restored parity at 7-7 and also took an 8-7 lead.

The Danes, however, recovered and took a 16-13 lead and a little later 20-17, but were about to throw the lead and three set points away. Junaidi Arif and Roy King Yap reduced the deficit to 19-20 before the Danes won the opening set.

In the second set, it looked as if the match was headed for a third set as Junaidi Arif and Roy King Yap enjoyed the lead for most of the set.

The Malaysians took the lead 10-6, but the Danes regained contact at 11-11. Junaidi Arif and Roy King Yap then edged ahead 14-11, but the Danes did not give up and tied the game at 15-15.

From then on, the Danes did not look back and punished several mistakes from their opponents in the final phase to claim the semi-final win.
