After a six-week break from all competition, Danish men's singles player Anders Antonsen returned to the court on Wednesday morning with great success at the Super Series 750 tournament, Japan Open.
The Danish world No. 3 took 45 minutes to defeat France's Toma Jr. Popov, who is ranked 16th in the world in straight sets. Antonsen won 21-17, 21-13 to seal his progress to the next round.
Antonsen is thus ready for the second round, where he will face either his compatriot Rasmus Gemke or the young Indonesian super-talent Moh. Zaki Ubaidillah.
It was Antonsen's 13th straight win against Popov.
