The Winnipeg Jets signed forward Kyle Connor to an eight-year, $96 million contract extension on Wednesday - the richest in franchise history.

Connor's new deal that begins next season will hold an average annual value of $12 million. He's currently in the final year of his seven-year, $49.98 million deal that he signed back in 2019.

The Jets' star forward was seventh in the entire NHL in both goals (41) last season and points (97). Connor's 56 assists were a career high and just the third time he's recorded at least 40 in a season.

After debuting with the Jets during the 2016-2017 season, Connor has posted at least 30 goals and 30 assists in six of the next eight following years.

Connor had five goals and 12 assists in 13 games during the team's Stanley Cup Playoffs run this past season, bringing his playoff totals to 20 goals and 29 assists in 58 games.

Winnipeg's 2025-2026 season begins on Thursday, October 9th, against the Dallas Stars.
