The Toronto Blue Jays won the American League East division and clinched the No. 1 seed in the MLB Postseason on Sunday.

It's the first time since 2015 that the Blue Jays claimed the AL East crown.

They now own home-field advantage throughout the AL and, possibly, the World Series, depending on whether or not they and the Milwaukee Brewers (MLB's No. 1 seed) make it.

The Blue Jays originally punched their ticket to the postseason back on September 21st.

Heading into Sunday's game, the Blue Jays had four players hit at least 20 home runs, three with at least 80 RBI, and six with at least a .260 batting average (min. 200 at-bats).

Bo Bichette's 181 hits led the team and tied for the second most in all of baseball. He also led the Blue Jays in batting average (.311), RBI (94), and doubles (44).

George Springer led the team with 104 runs, 31 home runs, and 17 stolen bases. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. led the team in walks with 81.

No team recorded more hits this season than the Blue Jays (1,446) - *stats pending update from Sunday's game. It's the most they've hit since 2022, when they recorded 1,464.

Starting pitchers Chris Bassitt (11) and Kevin Gausman (10) led the team in wins. Eric Lauer posted the team's best earned run average (3.21) among starters. Closer Jeff Hoffman put up the fourth-most saves (33) this season.

Toronto finished as the 4th-best hitting team with the 19th-ranked pitching.
