18:10 CET - Exuberant Frenchman Corentin Moutet edged a thrilling second-set tiebreak against Bernard Tomic to clinch an opening-round win in Almaty, 6-1, 7-6(9).

17:45 CET - Jacob Fearnley has won an absolute thriller against fifth seed Tallon Griekspoor in Stockholm, with the Brit getting the better of the Dutchman 6-3, 6-7(6), 7-6(5) in two hours and three quarters.

17:00 CET - Over to Brussels, where the first main-draw match of the European Open has just wrapped up, in which Marcos Giron has beaten Mattia Bellucci 6-3, 6-4.

16:45 CET - Moving back to Ningbo, seventh seed Diana Shnaider has battled past home hope Wang Xiyu, 7-5, 6-3, to move into the second round of the Chinese event.

That was the last match of the day there; you can catch up on all the scores from Ningbo here.

14:45 CET - Miomir Kecmanovic eased to a comfortable 6-4, 6-1 victory over sixth seed Alexandre Muller to cruise into the second round in Stockholm.

14:12 CET - Turkish number one and qualifier Zeynep Sonmez had to fight from a set down as well as a break down in the final set to snatch a 2-6, 7-5, 6-3 win over Aliaksandra Sasnovich.

12:48 CET - Ashlyn Krueger battled impressively from a set down against Maria Sakkari to clinch a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory, moving into the Osaka last 16.

12:17 CET - Great Britain's Katie Boulter has sealed a fine win in Osaka, beating the in-form second seed Linda Noskova 7-6(3), 6-3 to progress into the next round. She certainly needed that victory, as it has been a tough few months for her.

For Noskova, she has played so much tennis in recent weeks, and it seemed to have caught up to her a little.

11:40 CET  - In a battle between qualifiers, the lower-ranked Yuliia Starodubtseva claimed a relatively straightforward 6-4, 6-2 victory over Yulia Putintseva, moving into the second round in Ningbo.

Also through is veteran Sorana Cirstea, who came back to beat Moyuka Uchijima 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.

09:35 CET - The first winner of the week in Kazakhstan is Fabian Marozsan after the Hungarian made light work of Italian youngster Luca Nardi to win 7-6 (3), 6-3.

08:20 CET - Over to Osaka and home-favourite Naomi Osaka has wasted no time in booking her spot in the second round after a 6-0, 6-4 win against Wakana Sonobe.

07:30 CET - Hello and welcome to our coverage of today's tennis!

After a week full of drama in China, our focus remains in Asia on the women's side of the game for the new one, with tournaments now underway in Osaka and Ningbo; Naomi Osaka is currently getting her campaign underway at the former.

Over to the opening day in Ningbo, and Sofia Kenin is underway against McCartney Kessler in an all-American affair.

The ATP tour, meanwhile, has returned to Europe, where things are getting started in Brussels and Stockholm later today after the opening matches in Almaty.
