We have reached crunch time in several tournaments on the ATP and WTA Tours, as players look to make early statements during the first week of the new season. The action continues in Brisbane, Auckland, Hong Kong and the United Cup.

14:33 CET - The defending champions, the USA, have fallen at the semi-final stage of the United Cup, with Poland exacting revenge for their defeat in last year's final!

With the tie locked at 1-1, the mixed doubles duo of Katarzyna Kawa and Jan Zielinski won 7-6(5), 7-6(3) against Coco Gauff and Christian Harrison, sealing the nation's spot in the final.

They will take on Switzerland tomorrow.

13:33 CET - Alexander Bublik has continued his fine form from the 2025 season, reaching the Hong Kong final after a comeback 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 win over Marcos Giron.

12:03 CET - Coco Gauff has just produced a statement performance against Iga Swiatek, crushing the world number two 6-4, 6-2 to draw the USA level with Poland.

A mixed-doubles rubber will now decide which nation reaches the United Cup final.

11:30 CET - Lorenzo Musetti, who is the top seed in Hong Kong, moved into the final after coming from a set down to defeat third seed Andrey Rublev 6-7 (5), 7-5, 6-4 in a three-set thriller.

That is Musetti through to his first final of 2026, but surely not the last...

11:23 CET - Number one seed Daniil Medvedev has booked his spot in the Brisbane final, swatting aside Alex Michelsen in an hour and three quarters, 6-4, 6-2.

10:23 CET - Top seed Elina Svitolina had to fight back from a break down in the first set against talented 18-year-old Iva Jovic, eventually winning 7-6(5), 6-2 to set up an Auckland final meeting with Xinyu Wang.

10:00 CET - Hubert Hurkacz has put Poland in a strong position to reach the United Cup final, battling to a 7-6(1), 7-6(2) victory over the USA's Taylor Fritz, putting them 1-0 up in the tie.

Iga Swiatek will next face off with Coco Gauff in a vital clash, with the defending champions needing to mount a comeback.

08:35 CET - Xinyu Wang has defeated Alexandra Eala in a seesaw contest in Auckland, saving a match point in the second set to win 5-7, 7-5, 6-4, sealing her place in the final.

08:00 CET - Good morning and welcome back to the Tennis Tracker this Saturday morning!

Overnight, Aryna Sabalenka booked her spot in the Brisbane final with a supreme 6-3, 6-4 victory over Karolina Muchova. She is set to take on Marta Kostyuk, who has continued her imperious start to the season with a statement 6-0, 6-3 win over Jessica Pegula.

On the men's side of the tournament, Brandon Nakasimva moved into the showpiece event, clinching a 7-6(4), 6-4 win over Aleksandar Kovacevic. He will be joined by either Daniil Medvedev or Alex Michelsen, who are due to get underway at 09:30 CET.

In Auckland, starlet Alexandra Eala is currently taking on Xinyu Wang to reach the final, and could be joined by another young talent, Iva Jovic. However, she faces the toughest test of the number one seed, Elina Svitolina.

There are a pair of really exciting semi-finals to look forward to in Hong Kong, too, as first seed Lorenzo Musetti goes head-to-head with third seed Andrey Rublev at 08:30 CET, which is followed by second seed Alexander Bublik vs Marcos Giron.

Finally, Switzerland managed to reach the final of the United Cup during the night, as Belinda Bencic continued their fabulous week, winning both her singles and mixed doubles matches against the Belgians, meaning she is 8-0 for the week.

The USA are taking on Poland right now in a superb tie, which is also a rematch of last year's final. Taylor Fritz is set to clash with Hubert Hurkacz very soon, before Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff lock horns in a heavyweight meeting.
