There's more Latin American action in the world of tennis today, with some big names on the WTA tour taking to the court in Brazil and Mexico, including Sloane Stephens, Elise Mertens and Alexandra Eala.

06:30 CET - Play never resumed in Guadalajara after the rain delay, meaning the match between Elise Mertens and Elsa Jacquemot will resume this evening.

Tune back in later today as the action continues in Brazil and Mexico.

05:15 CET - After drying off the courts, the rain returns as the match between Mertens and Jacquemot remains interrupted in Mexico. Play won't resume for at least another hour.

04:20 CET - The match between Elise Mertens and Elsa Jacquemot is currently interrupted due to rain. Both players have walked off the court. Mertens took the first set 6-4 while Jacquemot leads in the second set 3-2. 

03:10 CET - Tatjana Maria advances in Mexico after defeating Rebecca Marino in straight sets 6-3, 7-5.

00:55 CET - After their match was delayed until much later due to rain, Lucrezia Stefanini finally ends up beating Sloane Stephens 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.

23:49 CET - 19-year-old Nikola Bartunkova has moved into the next round in Guadalajara, while Solana Sierra also clinched a win in Sao Paolo.

22:00 CET - Fran Jones and Tiantsoa Sarah Rakotomanga Rajaonah are the next players through in Sao Paulo, both moving through with straight-set wins.

21:02 CET - Indonesian player Janike Tjen has continued her recent solid form on the WTA Tour, claiming a crushing 6-1, 6-0 win over Martina Okalova in Sao Paulo.

In early action from Sao Paulo sees Britain's Francesca Jones take on American Whitney Osuigwe from 20:00 CET as Jones looks to build on her opening round win. 

Other big names in Sao Paulo later tonight are rising star Alexandra Eala and Argentine Solana Sierra.

The other WTA tournament this week is in Guadalajara, and Sloane Stephens will finally get to finish her tightly fought match against Lucrezia Stefanini after it was suspended yesterday due to adverse weather conditions.
