The first round is over at the French Open, and Wednesday sees the second get going with some of the biggest names in tennis hitting the hallowed clay of Roland Garros. This is your one-stop shop for all the headline results.

00:05 CET - We're another day down at Roland Garros but less than 12 hours away from another one, which looks set to be the biggest yet, with Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic and Coco Gauff among those in action.

We'll be back in the morning to cover it all and look forward to seeing you there!

23:10 CET - Holger Rune has rounded out the day with a comfortable win, with the world number 10 beating Emilio Nava 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 to move into the next round.

22:16 CET - The penultimate men's match of the day has been won by 15th seed Frances Tiafoe, who has beaten Pablo Carreno-Busta 6-4, 6-3, 6-1 in just under two hours.

21:30 CET - The last two results of the day are in on the women's side of the French Open. Firstly, Dayana Yastremska has caused somewhat of an upset to beat 12th seed Diana Shnaider 7-5, 7-5.

Finally, 11th seed Elena Rybakina has avoided such an upset against emerging talent Iva Jovic to progress to the third round, winning 6-3, 6-3

20:40 CET - Elsewhere, 2017 champion and 21st seed Jelena Ostapenko has won in three sets against Caroline Dolehide to progress to the third round.

Ostapenko came from a set down to show resolve and win 5-7, 6-3, 6-3.

20:34 CET - World number one Aryna Sabalenka has cruised into the second round with a typically powerful and dominant performance against Jil Teichmann, winning 6-3, 6-1 in one hour and 20 minutes.

20:13 CET - 12th seed Tommy Paul has come through a five-set thriller to progress at Roland Garros after being pushed all the way by veteran player Marton Fucsovics

Paul came from two sets down and on the brink of exit to win 4-6, 2-6, 6-3, 7-5, 6-4 and keep his hopes alive.

19:43 CET - Stefanos Tsitsipas has been stunned by Matteo Gigante in what feels like a breakthrough match for the young Italian.

Gigante's level was high throughout, and despite a nervy final service game, the world number 167 was able to see out a 6-4, 7-5, 6-2, 6-2 upset against a version of Tsitsipas lacking in confidence and form.

19:20 CET - American Danielle Collins is out of the French Open after losing 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 to Serbia's Olga Danilovic.

Earlier, on the men's side, local hope Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard was upset by Bosnia's Damir Dzumhur, who won their second-round clash 7-6, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.

18:22 CET - Back to the men's side, world number 24 Karen Khachanov is through to the third round after edging Sebastian Ofner 7-5, 3-6, 7-5, 4-6, 6-2 in an epic five-setter that has lasted over four hours!

17:52 CET - Reigning champion Iga Swiatek has cruised through, beating former US Open winner Emma Raducanu 6-1, 6-2 in just one hour and 20 minutes.

16:51 CET - The women's 18th seed is out, with Donna Vekic losing 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 to world number 83 Bernarda Pera. That's a real upset given Vekic claimed the Olympic silver medal at Roland Garros last summer.

16:15 CET - Carlos Alcaraz has beaten Fabian Marozsan 6-1, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 to move into the fourth round at the French Open.

The defending champion wobbled in the second set but recovered to wrap up the match quite comfortably. The Spaniard then had a bit of fun with the crowd...

Elsewhere on the men's side, Frenchman Quentin Halys has progressed after beating Miomir Kecmanovic 4-6, 6-3, 7-6, 7-5.

Over on the women's side, Elina Svitolina is into the third round as well after downing Anna Bondar 7-6, 7-5. Fellow Ukrainian Yuliia Starodubtseva is also through after beating Anastasia Potapova 7-6, 6-2.

15:24 CET - Our first major shock of the day has come courtesy of Nuno Borges. The Portuguese player has knocked out eighth seed and former finalist Casper Ruud in four sets, 2-6, 6-4, 6-1, 6-0, in what feels like an injury-plagued game for the Norwegian.

Meanwhile, Mariano Navone, a fine player on clay, has made it past Reilly Opelka from the United States with a relatively comfortable 6-1, 7-6(1), 6-3 win. Elsewhere, Czech star Vit Kopriva is out after being defeated by German Daniel Altmaier in four sets, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.

13:43 CET - Another result from the men's draw, where Serbia's Hamad Medjedovic has made into the third round of the French Open for the first time in his career by beating Argentina's Juan Manuel Cerundolo in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 7-5.

13:31 CET - Plenty of results flying in now from Roland Garros as Alexei Popyrin makes his way into the next round with a 7-5, 6-3, 6-4 win over Alejandro Tobilo.

Meanwhile, fourth seed Jasmine Paolini, a finalist a year ago, is through to the next stage and continues her love affair with Paris thanks to a 6-3, 6-3 victory against Ajla Tomljanovic.

13:17 CET - There was a slight rain delay at the French Open, but that has cleared to give Lorenzo Musetti time to win his clash against Daniel Elahi Galan with the minimum of fuss. The Italian eighth seed advanced with a 6-4, 6-0, 6-4 scoreline.

12:44 CET - Eighth seed Qinwen Zheng continues her great form in Paris after being crowned Olympic champion last year, as she defeats Emiliana Arango of Colombia in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 to set up an enticing match against earlier winner Victoria Mboko.

12:32 CET - Are we seeing the rise of another young star at Roland Garros? Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko has swept past Eva Lys 6-2, 6-4 - she will be a tough test for anyone in this tournament.

12:05 CET - What a morning it has been for Amanda Anisimova! The US 16th seed has strolled past Viktorija Golubic in just 56 minutes, winning their encounter 6-0, 6-2 to progress into the next round.

11:10 CET - Play is underway at Roland Garros for the day, stay tuned for all the main results.

09:40 CET - We are less than two hours from play starting for the day in Paris, but there is a bit of rain around, so hopefully, we get the full allotment of matches scheduled.
