Danish champions AGF have decided to terminate their sponsorship agreement with WindowMaster International A/S. This decision follows comments made by Oscar Boyter, representing WindowMaster, who linked the company’s involvement with AGF to the debate surrounding the use of pyrotechnics.

Boyter suggested on Facebook that the sponsorship should cover AGF’s fines related to pyrotechnics and indicated that any intensified efforts by them to combat the use of pyrotechnics would affect the continuation of the sponsorship.

The claim that the sponsorship was intended to cover their fines has no basis in reality and is also entirely incompatible with AGF’s principles and values. Consequently, AGF is now terminating its partnership with WindowMaster, says the Danish champions in a press release.

For the same reasons, AGF’s Chairman of the Board, Lars Fournais, has chosen to resign as Chairman of the Board of WindowMaster International A/S, effective immediately.

“This situation is unacceptable to AGF and to me personally, in my capacity as Chairman of both companies. There must be no doubt as to where AGF - or I - stand regarding the issue of pyrotechnics. We strongly condemn the use of pyrotechnics in football. I reiterate what we have stated many times: it is illegal and harmful to our club and to Danish football,” says Lars Fournais.

AGF will be in action on Sunday night when they face Viborg FF at home.
