FC Nordsjaelland on Sunday celebrated their seventh successive win by securing a 3-0 victory away against Sonderjyske to go joint top with Brondby at the top of the Danish Superliga

Between the two decisive Conference League qualifying matches against the Swiss side St. Gallen, FC Nordsjaelland coach Jens Fonsskov Olsen opted to make six changes to his starting lineup, a move that paid off reasonably well.

Thanks to two spectacular goals from full-back Markus Walker, making his first start of the season, and a strike from forward Villum Berthelsen, the visitors secured a comfortable 3–0 victory.

Sonderjyske should have taken the lead after just two minutes, but new signing Ismaïl Seydi squandered a golden opportunity. He dribbled past FC Nordsjaelland goalkeeper Andreas Hansen, but instead of slotting the ball into the empty net, he hit the side netting.

Midway through the first half, it took a combination of Hansen’s fingertips and the crossbar to deny the Frenchman, Seydi, his first goal in the light blue jersey. Defender Daniel Gretarsson also joined the list of players lacking clinical finishing before the break.

At the other end, the finishing also lacked sharpness until the penultimate minute of the first half when Markus Walker struck with a magnificent volley from the edge of the box, giving the visitors a 1–0 lead going into halftime.

The goal calmed the nerves of the visitors, and after the break, the technically gifted Farum side took control of the match. The home side struggled to create chances primarily because FC Nordsjaelland held possession for the majority of the match and rarely gave the ball away.

Walker scored again after an hour. This time, it was an easy finish for him, as Fonsskov's outfit had brilliantly carved their way through the home team's defense.

In the final fifteen minutes, Sonderjyske tried to push for a goal to narrow the deficit, but this left them exposed at the other end. Their defense was in tatters when FC Nordsjaelland launched a counter-attack in the 87th minute, allowing Villum Berthelsen to easily drive the final nail into the coffin.
