AGF began the match where they left off in the fall with stylish combinations and plenty of creativity in their build-up, but it was the visitors from Odense who, totally against the run of play, took the lead after ten minutes when Noah Ganaus rose high to steer a cross from Leeroy Owusu into the far corner to silence the passionate crowd in Aarhus.
That became the signal for a total local siege on the Odense goal, and the visitors could praise themselves lucky that they weren't behind by three to four goals at the break. Striker Patrick Mortensen came closest to restoring parity after 25 minutes when he latched on to a cross from Gift Links, but goalkeeper Viljar Myhra produced a wonderful reflex save to preserve Odense's lead.
AGF continued their dominance after the interval, where Patrick Mortensen again came close before Myhra again came up with a big save to deny Kevin Yakob when he was put clean through by Kristian Arnstad. Odense looked to be heading for a sensational win when Links broke free on the right wing to set up Frederik Emmery, who brought the game back to level terms with just four minutes left on the clock.
And AGF then completed a dramatic late turnaround when Myhra blocked a strong shot from Links only for the ball to fall kindly for Janni Serra, who had replaced Patrick Mortensen late in the second half, and the German striker sent the crowd into raptures with a strong header over Myhra and secured the three points for the home side.
In the other game on Monday night Fredericia secured a crucial 3-2 win away against Vejle in the fight to avoid relegation.
