Trabzonspor's most expensive purchase ever before was attacking midfielder Ernest Muçi, who was signed permanently from Beşiktaş for a total operational fee of €9.5 million (an €8.5 million transfer fee plus a €1 million loan fee).
Simsir has signed a 4-year contract (with a +1 year option) keeping him at the club until June 2030. Simsir now leaves the Danish club after spending ten years at FC Midtjylland.

Aral Simsir leaves FC Midtjylland with four trophies, 145 appearances, 26 goals, 40 assists, and the 3F Superliga Player of the Year award, as named by several independent media outlets. In June, he also made his debut for the Turkish senior national team.
