Juventus have made a surprise enquiry for Randal Kolo Muani, aware of his long-standing desire to return to the club.

The French forward spent the second half of last season on loan at the Italian club, and had hoped that spell would lead to a renewed agreement or a more permanent solution in Turin.

Instead, with talks failing to make it over the line in the summer, Kolo Muani opted for a move to Tottenham - viewing it as the best available option.

Tottenham now face a dilemma as Kolo Muani has struggled to fully meet expectations since arriving on loan from Paris Saint-Germain and Spurs are currently not expected to activate the option to sign him permanently at the end of the season.

With the transfer window entering its final days, however, terminating the agreement early is far from straightforward.

Sources indicate Tottenham cannot sanction Kolo Muani’s departure unless a replacement is secured, and there is an acceptance internally that time may be against them.

Juventus have endured a difficult search for a new forward this month and turned to Spurs after failing in moves for Jean-Philippe Mateta and Youssef En-Nesyri.

While other attacking options remain under consideration, Kolo Muani remains a player of significant appeal.

Juventus are fully aware of Kolo Muani’s preference to play for the club, but there is a growing sense that their latest approach may have come too late in the window.
