It's been an accepted fact for some while now that the 25-year-old England international sees his future away from Selhurst Park, and the latest information from Flashscore's transfer insider, Dean Jones, would appear to have thrown a curveball in the centre-back's direction.

Man City ready to make January move
That's because Jones' sources have indicated that Manchester City are considering a bid for him in January, suggesting that the player will need to make a swift decision on exactly where his immediate and long-term future lies.
Let's not forget that at one stage, Guehi appeared to be swayed by interest from Eddie Howe at Newcastle, only for the Eagles to rebuff the Magpies' consistent advances.
Given that the North East giants were willing to offer £55m and another £5m in add-ons, it was an opportunity missed by a South London outfit that subsequently agreed to a £35m switch to Liverpool, only to promptly pull the plug at the 11th hour.
It's understood that Liverpool do remain in the running; however, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona don't appear to be outsiders at this point either.
Palace could push for early Guehi exit
Guehi will likely have a preference as to where he sees himself playing, of course, though City's apparent willingness to meet the same valuation as Liverpool this month could put them in the box seat.
Palace runs the risk of losing the defender for nothing in the summer, so any financial bonus now would clearly be welcomed, and may even see the club attempt to push Guehi out now, despite the fact that a move before the end of the 2025/26 season is bound to hurt them on the pitch.

City's urgency has been triggered by injuries to Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias, and their offering in both a financial and playing sense is bound to tempt any player looking to improve themselves.
It's worth asking the question, though, as to whether City are actually the better fit for Guehi, or if he would be better served by moving to any of the other interested parties.
Guaranteed starter at City long term?
From Pep Guardiola's perspective, he's likely to have lost Gvardiol for the remainder of the season, and Dias will be out for a few weeks at least. When both are fit, they are the de facto centre-back pairing.
Max Alleyne has been called back from his loan at Watford, whilst Nathan Ake and Abdukodir Khusanov offer more options.

Though Guehi is likely to be parachuted straight into the starting XI if he's signed, in the longer term, does he really want to be battling out for minutes every week, rather than being a guaranteed starter elsewhere?
Liverpool offers a very interesting option, as the Reds haven't been anywhere near their defensive excellence from last season.
Kompany as his manager could appeal
Whilst it's true that Virgil van Dijk hasn't had his best season, he's still been head and shoulders above Ibrahima Konate, and there's certainly a scenario where Guehi could line up for Arne Slot alongside the Dutchman and, eventually, take the armband from him.
Whether Slot really wants to upset dressing room equilibrium mid-season is the major sticking point in seeing the player move to Anfield before the close of the current transfer window.
Where Bayern Munich have a chance of securing Guehi's signature rests with having a manager who remains one of the best centre-backs to have ever played in the Premier League.
Vincent Kompany will not only 'get' the player from the first moment he walks into the club, but will be able to offer detailed, succinct and pertinent career advice regarding how to improve in the central defensive role.
That has to be of interest to a player who would get the chance to line up alongside a solid partner in Dayot Upemecano, and have an ally in the dressing room - at least initially - in England captain, Harry Kane.
Spanish sojourn a possibility
The chance to play for either Barcelona or Real Madrid will always hold cachet for any player, and as Marcus Rashford and Trent Alexander-Arnold have shown, with differing degrees of success, both Spanish giants are happy to cast their net towards English shores for new signings.
Barca would appear to be in more dire need of an outstanding centre-back, but their major issue remains financial. If Guehi is to leave now rather than later, there will be a significant outlay that could curtail their business in other areas.

At Real, there's certainly an argument for placing Guehi alongside Dean Huijsen in a brand new, athletic, dynamic and physical partnership.
Although Raul Asencio has done well when called upon, it would be a surprise to see him retain his starting place, and all of Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao and David Alaba can't realistically expect to usurp Guehi should he arrive as the new man in town.
Decisions, decisions...
