Still just 25 years of age, the player was reprieved after new testing procedures were made available, which wouldn't have flagged the Ukrainian's sample as a breach if it was examined today, unlike when the apparent breach was noticed, hence a line now being drawn under the saga.
Mudryk has remained fit
For Mudryk, who has kept himself fit by training at Chelsea's Cobham facility, albeit away from the first-team squad, it allows him to resurrect his career, with many years still ahead of him in which to be successful.
Although there's been no word from Chelsea themselves as of this moment as to what their intentions are towards the Ukrainian, Mudryk has joined up with the first-team for their pre-season tour of Hong Kong, which will give Xabi Alonso the chance to assess the player's relative merits - or not.
If the Spaniard ultimately decides that Mudryk will not form part of his plans moving forward, then former Blues ace Frank Lampard appears ready to step straight in and bring the attacker to Coventry.
The Sky Blues are back in the big time after a 25-year absence, and in order for them to stabilise themselves in the Premier League in much the same way as Brentford have managed over the last few seasons, they could do with a decent signing or two.
Alonso says Mudryk is a "special player"
For all the controversy surrounding Mudryk, on his day, he can be the difference maker. He's never really shown his best in this regard, though the fact that Alonso regards him as a "special player" should be enough of a confidence boost for the player to know that if he were to stay at the club, he at least has a manager who appreciates his talents.
Lampard is also well aware of what the Ukrainian can bring to his side, having managed him for eight games during the former England international's spell in charge at the Bridge.
To date, Mudryk has played 73 games for the West Londoners but only started in 40 of them, and 30 of which he was taken off. The other 33 appearances were as a substitute.
Almost half of those appearances (36) came in the 2023/24 campaign, his most prolific in terms of goals. His five scored in the Premier League that season are exactly half of the total of 10 he's plundered whilst with the Blues.

Some good numbers from the Ukrainian
Exactly half of his eight fast breaks were also made in that season, indicating that Mudryk was finally beginning to find his feet after what was a reasonably disappointing start to his time at Chelsea.
His best shot accuracy of 57.14% (during seasons when he scored more than one goal) and shot conversion rate of 37.5% both came in the 2024/25 UEFA Conference League.
There was a campaign where he registered as high as 100%, but it's pointless to take note of that particular stat, as it arrived as a result of scoring from the one shot he had in the 2023/24 League Cup run.
70 chances created in his 73 Chelsea games and a pass completion that has fluctuated between 66.67% and 83.78% hint at the player's attacking capabilities, and whether he remains at Stamford Bridge, signs for Coventry or moves elsewhere, there are reasons to believe that with a regular run in the team, these numbers would improve.
Defensive side of Mudryk's game needs work
Though his work rate has never been in question, the defensive side of his game needs attention.
His one-on-one duel success has generally hovered in the 30% range, and though it's not really his forte, given his current situation, he needs to show desire and willingness in this regard in order to prove he's worthy of a regular starting place for either Chelsea or the Sky Blues.
If he's able to recapture the promise and form that he routinely showed whilst at Shakhtar Donetsk, he can put the last couple of years behind him and focus on moving forward and improving his career outlook.
