PSG have become the champions of France for the fifth season in a row, beating title rivals Lens to win Ligue 1 for the 14th time in their history.

While they've played some stunning football in the Champions League to reach the final for the second season in a row, the European champions' domestic campaign hasn't exactly been stellar.

They've suffered defeats to Lyon, Monaco, Marseille and Rennes, and have also drawn five matches, and Lens have been able to challenge them for the title as a result.

However, after picking up three wins in four, Luis Enrique's side headed into their clash with the title challengers knowing that anything but a defeat would make them champions again, and they got the job done.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, one of the side's star players this season, put them 1-0 up in the 29th minute. Lens created some big chances after that, but weren't able to take them, and were further punished when Ibrahim Mbaye made it 2-0 in stoppage time to seal the title.

It's the first time ever that PSG have won five Ligue 1 titles in a row, and they're just the second side to do so, after Lyon from 2001 to 2006.

That Lyon side went on to claim two further consecutive titles, and the Parisians will fancy their chances of doing the same.

Right now though, their attention will turn to the Champions League, where they're aiming to beat Arsenal and defend their crown to firmly establish themselves as one of football's greatest sides ever.
