No amateur teams staged surprises during the first games of the second round of the Dutch KNVB Beker as FC Den Bosch got away luckily with a late win.

Heracles Almelo - Hoogeveen: 4-1

Eredivisie outfit Heracles Almelo confidently dealt with fourth-tier amateurs VV Hoogeveen, who were beaten 4-1 in the Asito Stadium.

Heracles concluded an unconvincing first half with a 1-0 lead thanks to Mike te Wierik's 28th-minute opener, after which Ajdin Hrustic, Tristan van Gilst and Thomas Bruns put Heracles up four in the first 30 minutes of the second half.

Heracles were given the chance to add a fifth when Hoogeveen captain Levon van Dijk committed to a reckless tackle on Djevencio van der Kust, and handed the hosts a penalty. Sava-Arangel Cestic, who played his first minutes in two years after an ankle fracture, answered the crowd's chants and stepped up, but saw his Panenka end on the crossbar.

Alec van Hoorenbeeck put Hoogeveen on the board late with an own goal.

FC Den Bosch - VV Katwijk: 2-1

Second-tier FC Den Bosch got away with a disappointing outing after beating third-tier amateurs Katwijk 2-1 with a 93rd-minute winner.

Katwijk fearlessly claimed the lead early through Somalian international Mukhtar Suleiman, who curled in a beauty in the eighth minute. After Katwijk captain Rick van der Meer laced a ball onto the crossbar, Jeffrey Fortes equalised eight minutes after Suleiman's opener, after which the two sides played out an entertaining game with plenty of chances.

A strong Katwijk were punished at the death when debutant Amine Boushaba scored a 93rd-minute winner after firing the ball in Stan van Bladeren's far corner, ending the dream of a second-ever third-round ticket.

AFC - NEC: 1-3

A late Kento Shiogai double saved NEC from playing thirty extra minutes in Amsterdam as the Nijmegen outfit beat third-tier amateurs AFC 3-1.

An early opener from Rober Gonzalez was cancelled out by AFC in the 28th minute when Sven Ederveen was left all alone at the far post and was allowed to head the ball in an empty net freely.

A one-sided second half saw NEC create many chances but finish just two in the closing stages. Kento Shiogai ended the game for NEC with a brace - his sixth and seventh goals in the last six games - to earn the club a fifth third-round berth in six years.

Hoek - Telstar: 1-4

Telstar survived a tense first half away at third-tier Hoek to advance to the third round with a 4-1 win.

Hoek and the entire Sportpark Denoek called for a penalty when the ball struck the outstretched arm of Telstar defender Guus Offerhaus, but their roars left referee Martin van den Kerkhof unmoved, as Hoek were denied a spot-kick. Van den Kerkhof's reputation took another deep dive just seconds later when Tyrone Owusu fired Telstar in front in the 33rd minute.

Patrick Brouwer doubled Telstar's lead shortly after the break, thirty minutes after which Offerhaus reminded Hoek of their missed chance with the 3-0. After Gertjan Martens put the 3-1 on the board, frustration on Hoek's side ran high near the end of the game, as shown by the reckless challenge from Wout den Engelsman on Owusu, which cost the defender a yellow card.

Milan Zonneveld put a late nail in the coffin for Telstar, who beat 4-1 and left Zeeland with a third-round ticket in the bag.

PSV - GVVV: 3-0

In-form Eredivisie champions PSV only needed ten minutes to end amateurs GVVV's hope of a result in Eindhoven, where the hosts booked a simple 3-0 cup win.

Guus Til and former Bayern Munich wunderkind Paul Wanner put PSV up two within the opening ten minutes, the latter of whom scored his first goal in the red-and-white of Eindhoven.

With PSV never having to go in sixth gear, let alone third, former World Cup finalist Ivan Perisic beautifully headed in the 3-0 in the 53rd minute, handing third-tier GVVV without a third-round berth for the eleventh year running.
