With PSV having already wrapped up the Dutch title, all suspense at the top of the table takes place behind the Eindhoven giants.
Feyenoord are currently in second place with 61 points, leading NEC Nijmegen (56), Ajax (55), and FC Twente (55) with comfortable margins.
Behind the four leaders in the European race, AZ and Heerenveen, who are both on 50 points, look like unlikely candidates to finish among the top 4.
AZ don't need to finish among the European places anymore, with their KNVB Beker victory having secured them a spot in the League Phase of the 2026-27 UEFA Europa League. In the unlikely scenario that AZ finish third, they will enter the third round of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers and pass their UEFA Europa League ticket on to the fourth-placed team.
The second-placed team in the Eredivisie qualifies directly for the League Phase of the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League, while the third-placed team enters the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. Finishing in fourth puts a team in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League.
Feyenoord are in the driver's seat after last weekend's dramatic comeback win at Fortuna Sittard, which put them in a prime position to clinch the UEFA Champions League ticket this weekend, when Robin van Persie's men meet AZ at home.
NEC and Ajax need several miracles to finish second, with both needing Feyenoord to lose both games and for them to win the last two themselves. That's easier said than done, with NEC playing FC Groningen away and Go Ahead Eagles at home, and Ajax facing FC Utrecht and Heerenveen in the final two rounds. FC Twente will play Sparta at home and champions PSV in Eindhoven, giving them the worst odds of finishing second.
Behind them, AZ will face Feyenoord and NAC Breda, and Heerenveen will play NAC Breda and Ajax in the final two rounds.
The last play-off ticket
Behind the European qualification spots, the teams finishing 5th through 8th play in the play-offs for a ticket to the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League. But, with AZ already in Europe, no matter what, the final play-off spot looks to be for the ninth-placed team.
With two rounds to go, FC Twente, Heerenveen, FC Utrecht, and Sparta Rotterdam are virtually in the play-offs. FC Twente lead with 55 points, while Heerenveen locked in their spot by beating FC Volendam last weekend. FC Utrecht (47 points) and Sparta Rotterdam (43 points) aren't guaranteed to feature just yet, with FC Groningen (42 points) on the hunt.
All three teams have some tricky opponents left: FC Utrecht are set to play Ajax and Fortuna Sittard; Sparta Rotterdam face FC Twente and Excelsior; FC Groningen will meet NEC Nijmegen and Heracles Almelo.
Survival
At the bottom of the league, Heracles Almelo were officially relegated after losing 2-0 to FC Volendam on April 26th. The second and last direct relegation spot is currently occupied by NAC Breda (25 points), who are six points behind FC Volendam and need a miracle to avoid the drop with AZ and Heerenveen on the schedule.
The 16th-placed Eredivisie team will feature in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie's promotion/relegation play-offs, where they'll meet a Keuken Kampioen Divisie team in the two-legged final.
There's everything to play for, with FC Volendam and Telstar both on 31 points, but Telstar leading with a superior goal difference (-10 over -19).
14th-placed Excelsior are on 34 points and a goal difference of -14, thus leading Volendam and Telstar by exactly three points.
Fortuna Sittard, who appear safe, are five points clear of Telstar and FC Volendam with 36 points, while PEC Zwolle (37 points, -34 GD) are the last team who aren't mathematically safe.

FC Volendam are set to play two direct rivals in the final two weeks, with the battle between them and Telstar on the final matchday potentially the decider in the relegation battle.
The final two rounds of the Eredivisie will be played on Sunday, May 10th, and Sunday, May 17th. All games will be played simultaneously, with the May 10th games kicking off at 16.45 CET and the May 17th games at 14.30 CET.
