Feyenoord midfielder Luciano Valente was forced to leave the public training session on Tuesday with an apparent groin injury.

The 22-year-old midfielder has been one of the few Feyenoord players unbothered by the injury plague that hit Robin van Persie's squad, appearing in 38 games across all competitions and missing just two with suspensions.

Valente left Tuesday's public training session holding his upper leg, specifically around his groin. The club have not communicated about the injury yet.

The Italian-Dutch midfielder has featured in both of Ronald Koeman's last two Netherlands squads and is a contender to join the national team for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Koeman already saw PSV captain Jerdy Schouten sustain a torn ACL in the Eredivisie champions' 4-3 win over FC Utrecht last weekend, making the midfielder unable to join the Netherlands at the tournament.

In 38 games for Feyenoord this season, Luciano Valente has scored three goals and provided seven assists.
