Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane is confident about agreeing a contract extension with the Bundesliga champions.

England's captain is in the running to win a first Ballon d'Or in 2027 after another sensational season for Vincent Kompany's team.

The 33-year-old scored 36 goals in 31 Bundesliga games last season, the third most in a German top-flight campaign, whilst also winning a league and cup double.

His 61 goals across all competitions was a personal career best for Kane, who then led England to the 2026 FIFA World Cup semi-finals in July.

His focus is now back on club matters, after kicking off the season with victory over Borussia Dortmund in the German Super Cup, as he moves into the final year of his contract in Bavaria.

Despite links to a Premier League return, Kane appears keen to stay in Germany as he chases his dream of winning the UEFA Champions League.

"We'll talk this week and next. We'll just have an open discussion. We're not in a hurry or panicking.

"My full focus is on Bayern Munich and the upcoming season. The talks will happen behind the scenes."
