Former Norwich manager Johannes Hoff Thorup will take over the vacant coaching seat at Rapid Vienna and has signed a new contract valid until the summer of 2027 says the Austrian club on their website.

"When I first heard about Rapid's interest, I knew immediately that I wanted to learn more. During my visit to the club and the conversations with the management, I quickly realized that this could be exactly the right place for me."

"The club and the team have great potential, and the city of Vienna is also fantastic. I am very much looking forward to starting and working at SK Rapid. Together we all want to bring the club back to where it belongs", says Johannes Hoff Thorup to the club's website.

Rapid Wien currently occupies seventh place in the Austrian Bundesliga. The Danish coach begins his work from the new year and will be formally presented at the stadium on 7 January.
