The Portuguese coach initially took charge of Ghana on a short-term agreement, with his mandate centred on leading the Black Stars at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Queiroz guided Ghana to the Round of 32 at the tournament, where their campaign came to an end following a defeat to Colombia.
His initial mandate concluded after the World Cup, but following discussions involving the GFA and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, an agreement has now been reached for Queiroz to continue in charge.
The GFA said Queiroz's “extensive international experience, technical expertise and knowledge of the Black Stars” made him well positioned to lead the team into its next chapter.
His immediate focus will be Ghana's qualification campaign for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Black Stars begin their qualifying campaign later this month with a major test against Côte d'Ivoire on September 24 in Bouaké.
The Portuguese coach will now turn his attention towards preparing his squad for the upcoming international window, with further details regarding his new mandate and Ghana's programme expected to be announced by the GFA in due course.
