A statement from the league ensured steps were being taken to ensure action would return safely: "In cooperation with all relevant stakeholders and partners, and in close coordination with security authorities and match organisers, precautionary measures are being implemented to ensure the safe return of the competition.
"The Qatar Stars League has also approved a protocol aimed at safeguarding players, staff, officials and everyone involved in match operations, following a workshop held with all relevant entities, to outline the safety procedures to be followed in the event of an emergency."
The Qatar Stars League confirmed that the scheduled Round 18, which was supposed to begin on March 5th, will now take place a week later, starting tomorrow evening.
The CEO of the league, Hani Ballan, said: "These are challenging and unprecedented times for our country. We are grateful to live in one of the safest countries in the world, where strong systems are in place to protect us in situations such as this.
"The safety of our players, coaches, management, medical teams, and operational staff remains our highest priority. Nothing will ever be allowed to compromise their well-being.
"We are pleased to resume our league matches, following strict security protocols, as this marks an important step toward returning to full normality while continuing to observe all necessary safety measures.
"Life is gradually returning to normal, and we remain in close coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure that the highest safety standards are maintained at all times. We extend our wishes for peace and compassion to the region and to the entire world."
