New England Patriots star cornerback Christian Gonzalez is looking to remain with the team following their Super Bowl LX loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

“This is where I got drafted. I don’t want to be anywhere else," said Gonzalez. The 23-year-old will be entering the final year of his contract next season, with a club option for 2027.

Gonzalez was one of the few bright spots for the Patriots in their loss on Sunday, preventing some big plays, even a couple of touchdowns.

The first came on a deep shot from Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold

Gonzalez would make another spectacular play right before halftime, breaking up another pass that could've put the Seahawks up by two touchdowns.

He would go on to finish the game with four tackles and the two forced incompletions on the only two times he was targeted in all of his 22 coverage snaps.

He finished the 2025 season with a career-high 69 tackles and made it back-to-back seasons with at least 10 pass deflections, earning him Pro Bowl honours for the first time in his career.

The young corner was selected as a Second-Team All-Pro following his 2024 campaign, when he posted 59 tackles, 11 pass deflections, and two interceptions.
