The NHL's 12-game slate on Saturday gave fans a flurry of headlines, such as the Colorado Avalanche improved their win streak to eight, the Edmonton Oilers got revenge on the Florida Panthers in a Stanley Cup rematch, Sidney Crosby earned his 500th career multi-point game, and the Philadelphia Flyers scored three goals in 26 seconds!

Avalanche 3-0 Predators

Nathan MacKinnon extended his point streak to 12 games with his 17th goal of the season during the second period that put the Avs up 2-0.

Brent Burns (2) and Jack Drury (4) each scored the other two for the Avs as the team won their eighth straight.

Goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood recorded 35 saves for his first shutout of the season and the 15th of his career. The team is now 3-1 with Blackwood in net this season.

Colorado improved to a league-best 15-1-5, while Nashville dropped to 6-11-4.

Oilers 6-3 Panthers

Jack Roslovic (9) scored twice, both assisted by Evan Brouchard, who finished with three assists, and got the Oilers out to a 2-1 lead before they continued to pour on insurance.

Mattias Ekholm (2) and Vasily Podkolzin (4) would put Edmonton up 4-1 before Florida finally responded with goals from Mackie Samoskevich (3) and Sam Reinhart (12), slashing Edmonton's lead to 4-3.

But after holding strong in the third period, Connor McDavid (10) and Matt Savoie (3) sent home a pair of empty netters to put it out of reach.

Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner put up 35 saves were the most he racked up through 17 starts this season.

Kraken 3-2 Penguins

After Mason Marchment (2) got the Kraken up 1-0, Sidney Crosby scored his 13th goal of the season and would follow it up with an assist to Evgeni Malkin, who scored his sixth of the season - marking Crosby's 500th career multi-point game.

Unfortunately for him and the Penguins, that milestone was stifled by a Kraken rally after Matty Beniers (3) tied it up 2-2 to send it to overtime.

Brandon Montour (4) would score the game-winner for Seattle, who improved to 11-5-5. Pittsburgh dropped to 10-6-5.

Flyers 6-3 Devils

After Noah Cates (5) tied it up for the Flyers 1-1 nine minutes into the first period, the team would proceed to score three straight goals in a span of 26 seconds.

Matvei Michkov (5) and two goals from Tyson Foerster (7) in 26 seconds put the Flyers up 4-1 early on, leaving the Devils in a big hole to climb out of.

Bobby Brink (6) would tack on another for Philly to go up 5-1 before Nico Hischier (6) scored twice for the Devils.

But a final goal from Trevor Zegras (7) would be all the Flyers needed to close it out as they improved to 11-6-3.

New Jersey has now lost three straight as they've dipped to 13-7-1.

Canadiens 5-2 Maple Leafs

After two goals from both Noah Dobson (3) and Josh Anderson (5), the other from Lane Hutson (3), Montreal ended their five-game losing streak as they took down their Canadian rivals.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson (3) and William Nylander (10), who assisted on Larsson's goal, scored for Toronto, who fell to 9-10-3 on the season as sit just one point out of last place in the Eastern Conference.

Montreal improved to 11-7-3.

Lightning 5-3 Capitals

After Justin Sourdif (3) put the Caps up 1-0, the Lightning would proceed to take that personally as they followed it up with four straight goals - all in the first period.

Brandon Hagel (9) scored twice, along with a goal from Oliver Bjorkstrand (2) and Nikita Kucherov (10), which Hagel assisted on.

Washington responded with goals from Jakob Chychrun (6) and Ethen Frank (3), which Chychrun racked up an assist on, to slash the lead to 4-3.

But Anthony Cirelli (8) put it out of reach with the Lightning's fifth and final goal with just under five minutes left.

The Lightning improved to 12-7-2 and have now won three straight despite being outshot 32-16 by the Caps, who fell to 11-9-2.

Red Wings 4-3 Blue Jackets

Just shortly after making his claim to be on the United States Olympic Team during the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics, Alex DeBrincat (10) scored the game-winner for the Red Wings in overtime.

The Blue Jackets got out to a 3-1 lead thanks to goals from Adam Fantilli (9), Miles Wood (6), and Zach Werenski (7), the latter of whom assisted on Fantilli's goal.

But the Red Wings rallied after Ben Chiarot (2) and Moritz Seider (3) tied it up 3-3 heading into OT, where DeBrincat finished it off.

Detroit improved to 13-8-1 as they maintain their lead over the rest of the Atlantic Division. Columbus fell to 11-8-3.

Blues 2-1 Islanders

Goals from Brayden Schenn (3) and Pius Suter (6) were all that was needed for the Blues to improve to 7-9-6 on the season.

Anders Lee (4) would get the Islanders on the board late in the third period, but St. Louis goaltender Jordan Binnington was a brick wall most of the night as he put up 30 saves.

The Islanders fell to 12-8-2 on the season.

Senators 3-2 Sharks

Dylan Cozens (8) got things started for the Sens, but the Sharks responded with goals from John Klingberg (3) and Barclay Goodrow (1) to take a 2-1 lead in the second period.

Ottawa rallied thanks to goals from Fabian Zetterlund (2) in the second and Tim Stützle (11) in the third as they improved to 11-6-4, winning five of their last seven games.

San Jose fell to 10-9-3.

Mammoth 3-2 Rangers

Similar to the Sens-Sharks game, the Mammoth got out in front first thanks to a goal from JJ Peterka (9), but the Rangers responded with a pair of goals from Vladislav Gavrikov (3) and Artemi Panarin (6).

Utah rallied back thanks to a goal from Clayton Keller (8) in the second and the eventual game-winner from Nick DeSimone (2) in the third.

The Mammoth outshot New York 33-22 as they improved to 11-8-3. New York fell to 10-11-2 and have now lost four straight.

Ducks 4-3 Knights

Shea Theodore (3) and Braeden Bowman (4) put the Knights up 2-0 before Anaheim responded with a pair themselves from Jackson LaCombe (2) and Olen Zellweger (3).

Then, with just two minutes left in the first, Tomas Hertl (9) put the Knights up 3-2 with a power play goal.

After a five-goal affair in the first period, Anaheim's Troy Terry (7) would tie things up 3-3 heading into the third period with the lone goal of the second.

Anaheim pulled out the win in the end as they improved to 14-7-1, while the Knights fell to 10-4-7.

Flames 3-2 Stars

After two periods, Matt Coronato (8) scored for the Flames as the matchup's only goal heading into the third period.

Calgary pulled out the win in the end via a penalty shootout as they improved to 7-13-3, while Dallas fell to 13-5-4.
