The New York Giants are finalizing a deal to make John Harbaugh the team's new head coach, according to NFL insiders.

Harbaugh was recently fired from the Baltimore Ravens after 18 seasons, finishing the 8-9 season with a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and ultimately missing the playoffs.

Details of the deal are still being worked on, according to Adam Schefter. New York had been throwing the book at Harbaugh, including private jet flights, dinner, facility tours, and meeting with quarterback Jaxson Dart.

The Giants finished the 2025 season with a 3-14 record. They were on the head coaching hunt after the team fired Brian Daboll back in November, after the team started the season 2-8.

Should the Harbaugh deal be finalized, he will become the 23rd head coach in the Giants' franchise history, becoming one of the most prestigious ones to do so.

Harbs boasts a 180-113 record during his time with the Ravens, winning the Super Bowl to cap off the 2012 season. He would finish his tenure in Baltimore, the second-longest behind former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, who stepped down from the team, with a 2019 Coach of the Year Award, six AFC North titles, and still holds the record for the most road playoff wins by a head coach in NFL history.

After signing him to a new contract extension before the start of the 2025 season, the 63-year-old Harbaugh was set to make around $17 million per year as part of the new deal.
