The Minnesota Vikings traded cornerback Mekhi Blackmon (26) to the Indianapolis Colts on Monday in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick.

This is now the third trade the Vikings have made during the preseason.

The team previously traded away quarterback Sam Howell to the Philadelphia Eagles and defensive tackle Harrison Phillips to the New York Jets

In total, the Vikings have received: a 2026 fifth-round pick, a 2026 sixth-round pick, a 2027 sixth-round pick, and a 2027 seventh-round pick.

Blackmon was drafted in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Vikings. He played in 15 games (started three), recording 41 tackles, three tackles for loss, one interception, and eight pass deflections - third most on the team.

During his rookie year, Blackmon didn't miss a single tackle, which ranked best among all cornerbacks. He gave up 28 receptions for 285 yards and two touchdowns.

Unfortunately, Blackmon missed all of 2024 after tearing his ACL. Now he joins a Colts team that ranked 26th in pass defence last year and needs all the help they can get.
