Thanks to Yastrzemski, the Braves improved to an MLB-best 31-14. They are the only team in the entire league with 30+ wins. The Tampa Bay Rays (29) and Chicago Cubs (29) are the closest.
Atlanta currently have the best run differential in all of baseball with a +92. The team in second? The New York Yankees with a +72. Every other team is below a +70.
Yastrzemski, 35, went 1-for-2 in the game after coming in as a pinch hitter for Jose Azocar, who also went 1-for-2. His walk-off hit brought his season batting average up to .221. He now has 11 RBI with one home run, nine walks, and 33 strikeouts in 42 games this year.
This isn't the first for the Braves this season. Two weeks ago, power-hitter Matt Olson launched a walk-off home run. And a month ago, Dominic Smith sent over the fence a walk-off grand slam.
The Braves will continue their three-game series against the Red Sox on Saturday, May 16th, with the final game scheduled the following day.
