What an upset.

14:41 CET - Italy have won the Billie Jean King Cup final, thanks to Jasmine Paolini's 6-4, 6-2 win over Jessica Pegula of the USA!

Paolini's win followed Elisabetta Cocciaretto beating Emma Navarro 6-4, 6-4, meaning the Italians won the deciding tie 2-0 to defend their BJK Cup title.

It is Italy's sixth triumph in the competition's history.

It is Swiatek's third title of the year, and she now heads to Beijing with plenty of form and confidence.

12:48 CET - What a performance from Elisabetta Cocciaretto to give Italy the lead in the Billie Jean King Cup final! The 24-year-old was absolutely fantastic for her nation, claiming an emphatic 6-4, 6-4 win over the USA's Emma Navarro.

There is little doubt that the Pole goes in as the big favourite to clinch her third title of 2025, but the Russian will attempt to upset the odds for her second crown this year.
