This marks the end of a minor era. The 42-year-old Breschel spent four of his final five seasons—including his last two—racing for EF before transitioning into the role of sports director, a position he has held ever since.
Given his experience in the Classics, Breschel is an ideal director for Mads Pedersen, who will once again be chasing his first Monument victory in 2027.
