Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said that rookie wide receiver and cornerback dual-threat Travis Hunter will see more reps at cornerback this week in their matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Hunter, who was listed as a starter at wide receiver and secondary option at cornerback to start the season, played only six snaps on defence in the Jaguars' Week 1 win over the Carolina Panthers

The 22-year-old rookie only saw six snaps on defence (three in pass coverage, three in run defence) while posting 33 yards on six receptions (one drop) on offence.

"Going into Week 1, it was, 'OK, we know that it's not going to be a ton on defense,'" said Coen. "The goal is to increase and continue to increase (his defensive snaps). It just so happens that we're playing Cincinnati with two good wideouts this week."

Two good wideouts indeed, with one of them being the reigning triple crown winner, Ja'Marr Chase, and the other being Tee Higgins, who posted a career-high 10 touchdowns last season along with 911 yards.

However, the two are coming off a rough week against the Browns, putting up just 59 total yards on five catches combined. So it'll undoubtedly be a test to gauge just where Hunter is at as a corner and where they'll line him up against Cinci.
