Odense Handball will be handicapped by the absence of Markéta Jerábková in 2026 as the Czech international playmaker is pregnant.

It was not long ago that the 29-year-old Czech international was ruled out of action for her former club Ikast Håndbold due to a pregnancy, but in March of this year, Ikast said that Jerábková had lost her unborn child.

She has since returned to the handball court and, over the summer, has left Ikast for Odense.

"I am really happy to share this happy news with you. At the same time, it is with great feelings and respect for this fantastic club, fans, and not least my teammates who I will be around in the next period in a different way than as a handball player."

"I've had a fantastic start at the club thanks to everyone in and around it, and I'm really looking forward to being back again", says Jerábková.

She had previously played in Ikast since the summer of 2023, where she was a big profile and in the 2023/24 season became the team's top scorer in the Champions League. Jerábková also became the leading goalscorer at the World Championships in 2023.

Previously, the Czech star played in Norwegian Vipers Kristiansand, with whom she won the Champions League. In that connection, Jerábková was named the Final 4 tournament's best player.
