Kristina 'Mulle' Kristiansen will not get her contract extended with Nykobing Falster at the end of the upcoming season and the former Danish international handball legend is very upset by the treatment she has received from the club.

She makes no secret of this in the press release issued by the club on Wednesday morning:

"I am heartbroken and devastated to receive the news that NFH does not wish to extend my contract after this season," says the former national team player:

"For many years, I have clearly wanted to end my top-level career at NFH, so it is naturally a huge disappointment that this will not happen."

Kristina 'Mulle' Kristiansen has played for Nykobing Falster Håndbold since 2015 and has been part of winning every medal in the club's history.

"I never imagined that I wouldn't get to decide when to call it quits at NFH. It would feel like a slap in the face for any elite athlete—and it did for me, too," says 37-year-old Kristina Kristiansen.

In the lengthy press release regarding her upcoming departure, several representatives from Nykobing Falster Håndbold spend a great deal of time paying tribute to the handball player.

Both Chairman John Braedder and Coach Niels Agesen call Kristina Kristiansen "a living legend" and "the greatest player in NFH's history."

However, there is not a single word explaining why they have chosen not to extend her contract.
