GOG remain without points in the men's Champions League handball tournament. A Danish team with several key profiles missing lost on Wednesday evening 31-36 at home to Pick Szeged from Hungary and now have nothing to show for two matches in the group phase.

After both GOG and Szeged lost their first-round games last week, both teams were fired up for Wednesday’s match but in the end the Hungarian visitors prevailed.

With the help of Tobias Thulin between the posts, the visitors opened up a four-goal gap after five minutes. The visitors remained on top throughout the first half, even though theirDanish hosts managed to reduce the deficit multiple times.

But only once did the Danes manage to briefly take the lead, in the 13th minute. A similar scenario took place in the second half, with GOG pushing but Szeged always maintained a safe distance with a lead of two or three goals.

Mario Sostaric scored 12 overall, while backcourt players Borut Mackovsek and Imanol Garciandia also stood out during the game.

And despite Nicolai Pedersen delivering his best ever Champions League performance, with eight goals for GOG, the Danish side did not have the experience or resilience to turn things around.
