German handball champions Füchse Berlin on Thursday night suffered a setback in the race for first place in their Champions League group. The capital club, which has already secured a spot in the quarterfinals of Europe's top competition, suffered their first competitive defeat after nine straight wins, losing 31-33 (13-15) to Polish powerhouse KS Kielce and now risk losing the lead in Group A.

Even ten goals from World Handball Player of the Year Mathias Gidsel couldn't prevent Fuchse from suffering their second Champions League defeat of the season on Thursday night.

The Polish side, coached by new French national team boss Talant Dujshebaev, took an early lead and capitalised on numerous technical errors by the hosts.
