Fuchse Berlin bounced back on Easter Sunday afternoon in the Handball-Bundesliga after their tough defeat against SC Magdeburg when the defending champions cruised to a 39-26 (20-10) win over bottom-of-the-table SC DHfK Leipzig.

The leading goal scorers of the match were Danish world and European champions Mathias Gidsel and Lasse Andersson, each with six goals. However, the standout player was goalkeeper Lasse Ludwig, who recently made his debut for the German senior national team and was the backbone of Berlin’s strong defense with 19 saves.

The reigning champions, Berlin, currently third in the standings, temporarily reduced the gap to leaders Magdeburg to six points. However, the Champions League winners can restore their previous lead with a win at Frisch Auf Göppingen later on Sunday.

Berlin took control of the game from the start, and by halftime, Fuchse were already well on their way to victory with a ten-goal lead. After the break, the margin continued to grow despite several personnel changes, helping the team’s goal difference in the tight race for Champions League qualification.
