Kelce, 36, was set to be the top tight end free agent when the signing period begins on March 11th. Now, he'll be heading back to where he's spent his entire career. The vet is coming off back-to-back seasons finishing below 900 receiving yards in each for the first time since his second and third years in the league.
However, even with 851 receiving yards in 2025, Kelce still ranked fourth among tight ends in the category.
The Chiefs drafted Kelce in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Since then, Kelce has become a seven-time All-Pro tight end and needs just 45 more receiving yards to surpass Jason Witten for the second-most of all-time among the position.
He will need 2,126 more if he wants to surpass former Chiefs Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez for the most all-time. If he puts up nine receiving touchdowns, he'll leap Jimmy Graham and Rob Gronkowski for the third-most ever by a tight end.
