The Milwaukee Brewers are now one game away from sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers after defeating them 6-2 during Game 3 of the National League Championship Series on Wednesday,

Only one team in MLB Postseason history has come back from being down 3-0 in a Championship Series - the 2004 Boston Red Sox. The Dodgers are down 3-0 in a Postseason series for the first time since the 1966 World Series against the Baltimore Orioles, which they were eventually swept in.

As for the Brewers, they have a chance to join the 1995 Atlanta Braves and the 2019 Washington Nationals as the only NL teams since the best-of-seven format was introduced in 1985 to sweep the NLCS before going on to win the World Series.

With a 3-0 series lead, the Brewers are now one win away from completely flipping the script on a Dodgers team that swept them in last year's NLCS. They could be the first team ever to be swept by a team in one Postseason then sweep them back in the very next year.

Game recap and highlights

Jackson Chourio didn't waste any time at all and got the game started with a solo home run on the very first pitch of the game.

He surpassed Hall of Famer Andruw Jones for the most RBI (18) in the Postseason before turning 23. The kicker is that Chourio did it in 19 games; Jones had 17 in 45.

Chourio now needs three more home runs to hold the record for most lead-off home runs in the Postseason, sitting just behind Philadelphia Phillies superstar slugger Kyle Schwarber (5). He is currently tied with Shohei Ohtani, Derek Jeter, and Jimmy Rollins with three.

He also became the first player in league history to hit six Postseason home runs before turning 23.

But Snell settled in right after, striking out the next three batters and six in total through the first three innings.

He also got himself out of a jam in the second inning when he had runners on first and second with one out, proceeding to force Luis Lara to pop out and striking out Joey Ortiz.

In the bottom half of the inning, Lara made the catch of the game after hustling to make a sliding catch that sat down Freddie Freeman for the second out.

While not a Gold Glove candidate this year in the majors, Lara won a MiLB Gold Glove (minor league) last year while playing for the Biloxi Shuckers (Double-A affiliate).

Brewers starting pitcher Robert Gasser also had himself a fantastic Game 3. He gave up just three hits, all singles, through five shutout innings with one walk and three strikeouts.

In his now two Postseason pitching appearances against the Dodgers, Gasser has thrown a total of 5.2 innings, giving up just one run on four hits with two walks and five strikeouts.

He was done in Game 3 after just 72 pitches, and manager Pat Murphy immediately regretted it.

Abner Uribe found himself in trouble as soon as he got the call. He walked Teoscar Hernandez on five pitches, then walked Kyle Tucker on four.

He struck out Max Muncy, then walked Ohtani to load the bases with one out. Will Smith proceeded to blast a two-run double to deep left field to make it a 2-1 game, advancing Ohtani to third.

DL Hall came in for Uribe and minimized the damage, striking out both Enrique Hernandez and Tommy Edman to end the sixth.

Thanks to him, the Brewers had an opportunity to retake the lead and re-take the lead they did.

In the top of the seventh, Snell walked Andrew Vaughn on seven pitches to start things off. Then, in an 11-pitch battle, Jake Bauers's incredible story continued after he took Snell deep to make it a 3-2 game.

Bauers, who thought his MLB playing days were over, signed a minor league deal with the Brewers last year for healthcare reasons after his wife, Lauren, became pregnant with their second child. He played part-time with the Brewers in 2025 before having a breakout year this season.

He had never hit more than 12 home runs in a season. This year? He hit 26 and now hit one in what may be the biggest at-bat of his life.

Then, two pitches later, Garrett Mitchell also took Snell deep to double the Brewers' lead to 4-2. It marked the second time this Postseason the Brewers hit three home runs in a game (Game 2 of NLDS vs. Chicago Cubs) and the third back-to-back home run in Brewers Postseason history.

Snell's night was officially over right after. He finished with four earned runs on four hits with two walks and nine strikeouts through six innings of work on 101 pitches (63 strikes).

The veteran lefty hadn't given up a single home run all year before Game 3.

Evan Phillips finished out the rest of the top half of the seventh before Hall through a 1-2-3 for the Brewers in the bottom half.

The pitching mistakes didn't stop for the Dodgers. Roki Sasaki came in for Phillips and gave up one-out singles to both Bryce Turang and William Contreras (advanced Turang to third).

Manager Dave Roberts brought in Justin Wrobleski, who immediately threw a wild pitch that allowed Turang to score from third to make it 5-2.

Wrobleski followed up his mistake with a strikeout on both Christian Yelich and Bauers. From there on, it was cruising to a win for Milwaukee.

Trevor Megill came in for Hall during the bottom of the eighth after allowing a two-out single to Ohtani before getting Smith to fly out.

Ortiz singled off Wrobleski to bring in Cooper Pratt from second to make it 6-2.

Milwaukee scored at least one run in each of the final three frames and finished Game 3 with nine hits. Every single Brewers starter except Lara got on base at one point during the game.

Megill closed things out with a 1-2-3 bottom of the ninth.

Game 4 of the NLCS between the Dodgers and Brewers will take place in Los Angeles on Thursday, October 15th at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
