Luke Littler produced one of the all-time comebacks with a 6-5 victory against Gerwyn Price to secure his second nightly win in the 2026 Premier League Darts in Dublin on Thursday night.

In a strange final that lacked quality between two of the world’s best players, it looked for all the world that Price would get his hands on a second nightly win.

But after surging into a 5-0 lead, the Welshman squandered multiple match darts, and Littler capitalised by rattling off six legs in quick succession to leave his opponent stunned.

After dropping just one leg ahead of the final against Josh Rock and Luke Humphries, serving up arguably his performance of the year against Cool Hand, Price couldn’t maintain that consistency in the final.

The Iceman saw his average drop below 100 for the first time on the night (92.61), while his finishing was even worse at 26.32%.

Considering he averaged 109 and 66.67% (6/9) on the checkouts in a 6-1 demolition of Humphries, Price will have been disappointed by his performance in the final after losing from an improbable position.

Littler, on the other hand, proved he’s world No. 1 for a reason. Although he wasn’t at his best, the 19-year-old kept on chipping away, and Price eventually unfolded under his relentless pressure.

A second nightly win has moved the Nuke to just three points behind Jonny Clayton, while Price remains in third.

"I have no idea how I have done that," Littler told Sky Sports afterwards.

"I got the first leg, had a bit of fun. Then I got my 180, but Gezzy had set up tops, so I waved them goodbye.

"The rest is history. I was gone.

"When Gerwyn Price is on tops he doesn't usually miss. I may as well have been off the stage.

"This is darts, things happen."

Littler and Van Gerwen both reel in the big fish

Michael van Gerwen was gifted a place in the semi-final after Gian van Veen pulled out of the action in Dublin with kidney stones, and his performance against Littler didn’t disappoint.

The Dutchman was involved in arguably the best game of the Premier League so far, as he cruelly lost 6-5, with both players reeling in the big fish.

Starting the match with a disappointing 84 average in the first two legs, Van Gerwen soon kicked himself into gear and levelled the score at 3-3 with a classy 106 checkout.

The three-time world champion used that finish as momentum to showcase his best darts of the tournament, taking out 268 in six darts before reeling in the big fish to go 5-3 up.

Inconsistency then crept in on the doubles for Van Gerwen, who missed two match darts in leg nine before Littler clutched up on double 10 to stay in the match.

Van Gerwen was then forced to watch on as Littler followed suit by reeling in the big fish to level the match before punishing another missed match dart to win 6-5.

Clayton finally stopped in his tracks

Humphries had opened his evening with an impressive 6-3 victory against Clayton, getting revenge for his 6-1 defeat in last week’s final in Nottingham.

Cool Hand rattled off three legs in quick succession, including a classy 107 checkout, before Clayton fought back to level the game at 3-3.

The former world champion then broke straight back, took out a 120 finish and cleaned up on double eight to hand the Welshman his first defeat at the quarter-final stage in 2026.

While Humphries averaged 103 and produced 40% on the checkouts, Littler’s route to the final began with a 6-3 victory over Stephen Bunting

Littler complemented his 105 average with a clinical 60% on the checkouts to brush aside Bunting, who himself averaged 104, but couldn’t get his timing right on the outer ring.

The Bullet at least competed against the world champion across nine legs, and the same can’t be said for Rock, who extended his winless run to seven matches in the competition.

Rock was on the receiving end of a 6-0 whitewash with a shocking 84.21 average and four missed darts at double against Price as the Welshman showed no mercy with an 103.66 average and 46.15% (6/15) on the checkouts.
