The Danish women's curling team on Wednesday night lost their final chance of qualifying for the semi-finals of the Winter Olympics when they lost 6-4 against Switzerland after a match where Denmark led 4-3 before the final end.

Denmark has no more matches left to play in the round robin and in total recorded five wins and four defeats along the way.

Danish players Denise Dupont and Jasmin Holtermann had tears in their eyes when they were trying to give their account of the performance to TV2 Sport.

"That was the last match now. We played a good match, but then you also realize that the Olympics are over. It's just going to sink in", said Denise Dupont

"We faced an insanely strong team. We possibly played one of our best matches. We are proud, but also sad about how it ended. And we are sad that the hope of a semi-final is gone", said Jasmin Holtermann.
