Minnesota Twins All-Star centerfielder Bryon Buxton immediately walked off the field after taking a fastball to the arm during Friday's matchup against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Buxton, 32, was later diagnosed with a contusion after x-rays came back negative. Minnesota won the game 10-4, as Buxton left going 0-for-3 at the plate.

After recording a hit in three of his first four games, Buxton has started April hitless, going 0-for-10 in the team's three games this month. The Twins are currently 3-4 on the season and have won their last two games.

Buxton is coming off the best season of his 12-year career. He batted .264 in 2025 with a career-high in both home runs (35) and runs batted in (83), coming up just six stolen bases short of surpassing his previous best (29).

Minnesota will face Tampa Bay in game two of their series on Saturday at 7:10 p.m. Eastern.
