Toronto Blue Jays All- Star George Springer fractured his left big toe during Saturday's matchup against the Minnesota Twins after fouling the ball off his foot.

Springer, 36, will undergo a CT for further testing so the team can gauge how long he'll be out for. Now, the veteran outfielder will just be one of many major injuries the Blue Jays are dealing with.

“The CT will confirm something in terms of a plan. I know Georgie plays through a lot all the time,” said manager John Schneider. “Fingers crossed, but we’ll see what this CT says.”

Springer is batting a brutal .185 through 14 games this season with two home runs, six RBI, and one stolen base.

Toronto has lost a handful of stars recently, including third baseman Addison Barger (10-day IL), starting pitcher Cody Ponce (15-day IL), starting catcher Alejandro Kirk (10-day IL), and outfielder Anthony Santander (60-day IL).

Starting pitcher Jose Berrios (15-day IL) is expected to begin his rehab assignment next week, while other starting pitcher Trey Yasavage is expected to make his second rehab start next week.

The Blue Jays are 6-8 (fourth in the American League East division) after losing to the Twins 7-4 and now possess the second-worst run differential (-19) in the AL.
