Rumors about a possible Giannis Antetokounmpo trade are growing louder. If the Milwaukee Bucks star decides to request a trade, here are five realistic destinations with trade packages that his team might be willing to accept.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is 31 years old. He is earning $54,126,450 this season, will make $58,456,566 next season, and holds a player option for $62,786,682 in the 2027/2028 season.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Package: Julius Randle + Jaden McDaniels + Mike Conley for Giannis Antetokounmpo

Draft picks: 2026 first-round pick + 2028 first-round pick + 2030 first-round pick + 2032 first-round pick

Minnesota has shown it’s not afraid to make bold moves, having acquired Rudy Gobert for four first-round picks in 2022. The result? Two straight conference finals, a feat not seen in the West since the Warriors.

But the final steps are always the hardest, and it will take a major move to topple the Thunder. Pairing the Greek star with Anthony Edwards makes sense, even if it means sacrificing Jaden McDaniels to make it happen.

Miami Heat

Package: Bam Adebayo + Davion Mitchell + Jaime Jaquez Jr for Giannis Antetokounmpo

Draft picks: 2026 first-round pick + 2028 first-round pick + 2029 first-round pick + 2031 first-round pick + 2032 first-round pick

Whenever a superstar becomes available, the Heat are always in the conversation, and the Greek Freak is no exception. Miami, known for its lifestyle and media exposure, would be an ideal landing spot for Giannis.

However, to have any chance of convincing the Bucks, they would have to offer Bam Adebayo in return, as pairing the two doesn’t really make sense. In the past, the Heat have sometimes hesitated on big deals. But that’s the price to pay to truly return to the NBA’s elite.

Atlanta Hawks

Package: Trae Young + Onyeka Okongwu + Kristaps Porziņģis for Giannis Antetokounmpo + Myles Turner + Kevin Porter Jr.

Draft picks: 2026 first-round pick (swap with Milwaukee or New Orleans) + 2027 first-round pick (swap with Milwaukee or New Orleans) + 2029 first-round pick + 2031 first-round pick

Arguably the boldest package on the list. Atlanta has actually performed quite well without Trae Young, who could be on his way out.

Sending Porzingis, who is on an expiring contract, would allow them to lock in a starting five of Nickeil Alexander-Walker - Dyson Daniels - Jalen Johnson - Giannis Antetokounmpo - Myles Turner for several years, which would be a formidable lineup. Milwaukee would also regain control of some of its own draft picks. Quite a valuable offer.

Utah Jazz

Package: Lauri Markkanen + Ace Bailey + Walter Clayton Jr + Brice Sensabaugh for Giannis Antetokounmpo

Draft picks: 2026 first-round pick (swap with Minnesota or Cleveland) + 2028 first-round pick (swap with Cleveland) + 2029 first-round pick + 2031 first-round pick + 2032 first-round pick

Probably the least realistic of the five. Still, it’s hard to match this combination of young talent and draft picks. A recent top-5 draft pick, several prospects to develop, and a wealth of future picks.

While the package is certainly strong enough, it’s hard to imagine the Bucks sending their star to a destination that, on paper, might not suit him. The Bucks face a tough choice: the future of the franchise, or a proper ending with the best player in their history?

Memphis Grizzlies

Package: Jaren Jackson Jr. + Jaylen Wells + Scotty Pippen Jr. + Santi Aldama for Giannis Antetokounmpo

Draft picks: 2026 first-round pick + 2028 first-round pick + 2029 first-round pick (swap with Orlando) + 2031 first-round pick + 2032 first-round pick

Just three years ago, the Grizzlies were the NBA’s darling team. Now, despite having two stars, they’re on the decline. It’s hard to know what the franchise’s true goal is.

They made some surprising decisions, but with the number of draft picks acquired in the Desmond Bane trade, they can put together an enticing offer without completely depleting their draft capital. Will it be enough to convince Milwaukee?
