Turkey, who have won all eight games they have played, are through to the Final of EuroBasket thanks to a great first half in which they overwhelmed Greece. They will face favourites Germany, who beat Finland in the first Semi-Final and are also undefeated.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is still unable to lead the way in European basketball as he does in the NBA. In a tournament in which several favourites had fallen by the wayside, it seemed that the Greek star could give his country the satisfaction of reviving old laurels.

But they came up against another team with a rising star from the American league in Alperen Sengun (15 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists), and a series of stars who are triumphing in the EuroLeague, such as Larkin, Osman and, in this semi-final, a spectacular Ercan Osmani, who, with 28 points was the top scorer of the game.

Already, the 0-7 start showed Greece that they were a tough opponent. They were unbeaten for a reason. With no arguments to stop them, the first 10 minutes ended with a clear 16-26 lead. Far from being able to come back, the Turks continued to increase their lead, which exceeded 20 (24-45) and remained at 18 (31-49) at half-time.

Much had to improve, especially in defence and in the zone, to stop the bleeding, but the Greek interiors did not seem to be up to the task. After trailing by 26, the final quarter was entered with everything already decided. Just in case, Ergin Ataman warned his players - and when he speaks, no one listens - about the dangers of too much relaxation.

So they opened up a 30-point gap, a clear humiliation for the Greeks, who were powerless against the offensive arsenal and rim protection of the Ottomans, who will play the final of the EuroBasket against Germany with a 68-94 win.

The MVPs

Kostas Sloukas, with 15 points, was the top scorer for the Greeks. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 12 points and 12 rebounds, without attempting a three-pointer.

On the winning side, Osmani scored 28 points. Osman contributed 17 points, Sengun a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds, and Larking 14 points.
