The semi-final stage at the Australian Open is here, with the women in action as four of the world's best players look to book their spots in the showpiece this Saturday.

13:08 CET - We have a rematch of the 2023 final! Elena Rybakina made hard work of it in the end, squandering three match points and failing to serve out the contest on two occasions. She even needed to save a set point in the second set tiebreak, but got over the line to win 6-3, 7-6(7) against Jessica Pegula.

For most of the match, Rybakina was irresistible, totally overpowering the American. However, the nerves began to set in at the end of the second set, but she still got the job done.

She will face Aryna Sabalenka in a rerun of the 2023 final, which Sabalenka won in an absolute thriller. Hopefully, we get more of the same.

11:59 CET - Advantage, Elena Rybakina. The finalist in 2023 has won the first set 6-3 with some brilliant ball striking and big-hitting tennis, and so far, Jessica Pegula has been unable to cope.

11:05 CET - Two-time champion Aryna Sabalenka has swept into a fourth-consecutive Australian Open final, claiming yet another straight-sets victory to overcome Elina Svitolina 6-2, 6-3.

The Belarusian was simply imperious, swatting aside her opponent in an hour and a quarter to reach the Melbourne showpiece. The world number one is yet to drop a set this tournament and will be the favourite against whoever she faces in the final.

Speaking of, the second semi-final between Jessica Pegula and Elena Rybakina is set to get underway soon.

10:00 CET - The first semi-final between the world number one and tournament favourite Aryna Sabalenka and Elina Svitolina is underway! This has the potential to be box-office, so don't look away...

08:00 CET - Good morning and welcome back to the Tennis Tracker on women's semi-final day at the Australian Open!

The first semi-final begins at 09:30 CET, which pits two players against each other who have yet to lose in 2026. World number one and two-time champion Aryna Sabalenka faces Elina Svitolina, with the former continuing her quest to recapture her crown and get her hands on a fifth Grand Slam title, while the latter is looking to reach her first major final.

Sabalenka leads the head-to-head 5-1, having won their last four meetings.

The second semi-final sees Elena Rybakina clash with Jessica Pegula. Rybakina dumped out Iga Swiatek in her quarter-final, with Pegula downing Amanda Anisimova.

The pair have faced off six times before, with both winning three times. However, they have only played twice in the last two years, with Rybakina coming out victorious at the Billie Jean King Cup and WTA Finals in 2025.

Incredibly, none of the semi-finalists have dropped a set at this year's Australian Open!
