The Australian Open is close to reaching the last-eight stage, with the last quarter-finalists set to be known today. Jannik Sinner, Iga Swiatek and defending champion Madison Keys are just some of the players who will be in action.

07:53 CET - Fifth seed Elena Rybakina has cruised into the quarter-finals in Melbourne after a clinical 6-1, 6-3 triumph over Belgium's Elise Mertens in just 78 minutes.

The 2023 runner-up, who has now won 17 of her last 18 competitive matches, will face either second seed Iga Swiatek or home favourite Maddison Inglis in the last eight.

07:29 CET - What a performance from Lorenzo Musetti! The Italian has swept aside Taylor Fritz in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5, 6-4, to set up a fascinating quarter-final with Novak Djokovic.

It's a first-ever straight-sets victory against a top-10 opponent on a hard court for Musetti, who has now reached the last eight at every Grand Slam.

Ben Shelton and Casper Ruud will round out proceedings in what should be a big-hitting battle.

The singles begins on the Margaret Court Arena at 05:00 CET, as former finalist Elena Rybakina faces Elise Mertens, followed by two-time defending champion Jannik Sinner, who comes up against fellow Italian Luciano Darderi

Finally, at 03:30 CET, Amanda Anisimova goes head-to-head with Xinyu Wang on the John Cain Arena.
